The Life Cycle of Plasmodium '(Plasmodium) youngi' Eyles, Fong, Dunn, Guinn, Warren, and Sandosham, 1964 (Protozoa: Plasmodiidae), a Parasite of Gibbons.

Abstract

The specific objectives of this study were to determine the exoerythrocytic cycle of P. youngi, to ascertain the erythrocytic cycle of this parasite, to transmit experimentally the gibbon malaria from infected animals to non-infected animals using colonized Anopheles Meigen mosquitoes, and to study the sporogonic cycle of the malarial organism in certain anophelines.
