The application of contingency table analysis to longitudinal military manpower data is illustrated. The data pertain to first-term enlistees in the U.S. Marine Corps. The problem addressed is the assessment of variables influencing reenlistment decisions. On the basis of this assessment, implications for manpower policy are analyzed.
