Studies in Optics

Abstract

The studies covered in this report are the design of optical frequency shifters for AC interferometry (Section II) and the production and assessment of corrector plates used to optically compensate for distortions in laser beams (Section III). Section II describes efforts to work out an electrooptical system for producing Doppler frequency shifts in laser beams. Section III describes the design, fabrication, and testing of a correction plate for removing distortions in a laser beam.
