Cable Shield Test Facility.
Abstract
A test facility for measuring the transfer impedance and transfer admittance of cable shields was designed, fabricated, and tested. The tester was designed for use with a network analyzer in the frequency range between 10 kHz and 100 MHz. With adapters provided with the tester, it can also be used to test shielded cable connectors over this frequency range. The facility was tested with tubular shields, with a slit pipe, and, for the connector test configuration, with a pipe with four holes about its girth. (Author
