Annual Re-Entry Vehicle Jamming Simulator Status Report,

Abstract

The Re-entry Vehicle Jamming Simulator development has progressed through the first, second, and third level block diagrams. More detailed designs have also been accomplished in some areas. The functional requirements and basic operation of the RVJS have been established and an interface of the RVJS to the SAFEGUARD Missile Site Radar has been proposed. Plans for developing a prototype RVJS are to divide the system into four subsystems for separate contracts. The technical data package for procurement of the first subsystem has been completed and is being reviewed. In addition, work has been initiated for procurement of the second subsystem. Plans for acceptance testing of the subsystems have been briefly outlined. The subsystem interfacing will be accomplished in-house by SAFVIT. The RVHS will provide a realistic simulation of a hostile environment to the SAFEGUARD radars. (Author)
