A Computer Program to Obtain Hit and Kill Probabilities for Multicomponent Targets Damaged by Deliveries of One or More Weapons.

Abstract

This report describes a computer program for assessing damage to a multicomponent target modeled as intervals or rectangles. Kill probabilities resulting from the use of one or more weapons with one or more aimpoints can be obtained. One or more components may be damaged at a time. The conditions for a target kill may be specified by the user, and the program can determine the long-term probability of killing any combination of components, as well as the number of shots (or weapons) to kill the target. The method is analytical, based on absorbing Markov chains. The simplicity of the input and the exactness of the answers make the program a valuable tool for analyzing target kills (Author)
