Report of the Ad Hoc Interlaboratory Committee on Navy R and D Emergency Assets.
Abstract
The results of ad hoc interlaboratory committee meetings conducted during October and December 1973 to determine how best to provide emergency assistance in case of a submarine/submersible disaster are reported. A plan to generate and maintain 'An Inventory of Navy Laboratory R and D Equipment Available for Emergency Undersea Operations' is detailed. Reported are recommended areas of rescue, search, inspection, salvage/recovery and surface support to be covered, target enhancement/equipment features, recommended new equipment, and available areas of expertise at Navy R and D Laboratories.
