The Algebraic Theory of Matrix Polynomials.

Abstract

A matrix S is a solvent of the matrix polynomial M(X) = (A sub 0)(X sup m)+...+A sub m if M(S) = O where A sub i, X, S are square matrices. In this paper the authors develop the algebraic theory of matrix polynomials and solvents. (Modified author abstract)
