Deflection Tests of Dinghy CG-16765,

Abstract

A change in the design of the plastic 16-foot dinghy is the use of one less layer of woven roving in the hull between the gunwale and the turn of the bilge. This change was made to obtain a lighter weight boat at lower cost. Field testing was conducted to measure keel and gunwale deflections on dinghy CG-16765 by adding weights in 50 pound increments up to 500 pounds. The results are reported.
