Operational Test of 95 Foot Patrol Craft (Rough Water Test).

Abstract

Many earnest attempts have been made to evaluate the motions of a vessel at sea, but in general these elaborate mathematical studies fail to establish any specific yardstick wherein the average ship designer or operator can translate the analytical data into tangible results. It is the purpose of this test to gather engineering data to enable design personnel to examine one of the yardsticks, namely pitching and pounding, in terms of acceleration values - and to correlate the data so obtained with motion pictures.
