Test of Modified 16 Foot Plastic Dinghy,
Abstract
Previous tests of a plastic 16 foot dinghy of new design had indicated that the thwarts should be changed slightly. This modification was made and further tests were conducted to determine deflections under load when hoisted in davits or by a sling with an included angle of 52 deg; to determine behavior when driven by 10 to 15 hp outboard motors with various loads; and behavior under other operational conditions.
