Performance of Nylon Sheaves for Manila Rope Blocks.

Abstract

Solid nylon sheaves with and without lubricant were compared with lubricated roller-bearing metal sheaves in standard 10 in. boat hoisting blocks. The friction was very nearly the same in both cases. The strength of the nylon sheaves appeared to be ample. (Author)
