Minority Recruiting in the Navy and Marine Corps

Abstract

The report analyzes the minority recruiting policies, procedures, and objectives of the Navy and Marine Corps. It examines the nature of the problem, noting that it is both quantitative and qualitative for the Navy but mainly qualitative for the Marine Corps. It then summarizes the history, background, philosophy, and organization of recruiting. Recruiting concepts and practices are examined in detail, followed by an analysis of labor market factors affecting minority availability.
