A-10 Procurement Data Acquisition Plan: A Case Analysis.

Abstract

It is the policy of the Department of Defense to procure on a competitive basis to the maximum extent practicable. The Air Force acquires procurement data to comply with this Department of Defense policy. This thesis examines policies and procedures related to procurement data acquired by the A-10 System Program Office. It studies data problems previously encountered by Air Force Logistics Command so that they can be avoided by the A-10 program. It then evaluates how various agencies involved in the acquisition of A-10 procurement data intend to implement directives and identifies additional problems. Recommendations are given to improve the quality of A-10 procurement data which would result in increased savings to the government. (Modified author abstract)
