The Measurement of Procurement Workload.

Abstract

A measurement system is developed for determining workload at a US Air Force R and D procurement division. A worksheet was developed upon which subjective estimations of workload were provided by 59 procurement personnel. Computer analysis of the resulting data gave mean values for estimates pertaining to over 50 subtasks within six categories of procurement action. Mean times were used to calculate workload values for the six categories. Dollar value of contracts and degree of competition were used to establish the categories of procurement action to be evaluated. (Author)
