A Reliability Demonstration Test Plan Comparison.

Abstract

A new family of statistical test plans featuring combined stress testing has been proposed to replace Mil-Std 781B test plans and the Mil-Std 810B environmental tests. An objective of the new plans is to reduce the disparity between specified MTBF and field MTBF of USAF avionics equipments. This research is intended for the Air Force Program Manager who may implement the new test plans in the future. The results of three USAF avionics reliability demonstrations are compared with a new 5th Failure Test Plan. These programs are the ARC-164 (UHF radio), the ALQ-128 (Countermeasures set), and the ARN-84 (TACAN). (Author)
