Abstract

The paper discusses some of the MVA programs announced by Department of the Army as well as local programs initiated in the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii from 1970 to May 1974. An initial overview of the conditions existing before the initiation of MVA actions is provided as well as a brief account of the development of the all-volunteer Army concept.
