The Development of High Voltages in KDP Irradiated by Gamma Rays,

Abstract

In the course of a study of the thermoluminescence of Gilliland Yockey discovered that intense scintillations appear during the temperature ramp. Later, the same effect was found by Yockey in potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) and in triglycine sulfate (TGS). In this work the authors have obtained the optical spectrum of the pulses in two independent ways, one by photography with the aid of an image intensifier, and one by counting pulses while scanning the spectrum with a monochromator.
