Ground Tactical Data (GTD) Map and Enriched Line (ENL) Map Evaluation-Topographic Products Evaluation Program.
Abstract
The experimental 1:25,000 scale Ground Tactical Data (GTD) map and the experimental 1:50,000 scale Enriched Line (ENL) map were evaluated primarily through the use of questionnaires. The experimental GTD map is a special purpose map which was designed to provide the terrain information and geographic intelligence data that would be required to plan and support the ground tactical phase of an airmobile operation. The ENL map is an experimental military line map which contains additional information (nonstandard) in the map body and map margin. The objectives of the evaluation were to determine the utility of both maps, to determine the utility of many of the map features of both maps, and to identify terrain information needs of military users for consideration in the development of both maps.
