Mechanism of Destruction of Transparent Dielectrics Such as Organic Glass by Laser Radiation,
Abstract
Proposed is a gas formation mechanism based on the multiphoton photodestruction of polymer molecules and the consequent forma- tion of the free radicals which trigger the chain reaction mechan-ism in which the radicals split off and gas molecules are subse-quently formed. The development kinetics of this process, in which the microstructure of the material plays a substantial role is studied. (Author-PL)
