An Operational Guide for the AN/TPS-41 Radar.
Abstract
The report is an operational guide for the use of the Weather Radar Set, AN/TPS-41 by personnel other than professionally trained meteorologists to collect and interpret meteorological data. The first part of this report provides introductory material on common major components of radars, a discussion of the basic radar formula, and a brief review of radar operation to gain optimum echo observation. The balance of the report covers radarscope interpretation, operational techniques for applying radar data, illustrations of storms observed by radar, and nuclear surveillance. (Author)
