The Electroencephalogram in Cranio-Brain Injury.

Abstract

The report presents information to support the conclusion that while examining the picture of the electroencephalogram at different periods of time and following brain injury particular attention should be paid to the EEG dynamics, which doubtlessly depend upon the pathophysiological and pathomorphological disorders that have arisen as consequences of the injury, and also to the macro- and microscopic changes in the neurons, glial elements, and blood vessels of the brain. Immediately following the primary pathomorphological and pathophysiological changes, secondary changes develop, of which some are rapid reactions, while others are late reactions which appear at various periods of time after the injury.
