Feasibility Study on Miniaturization of Federal Catalog Data by the Navy.

Abstract

The report presents the results of investigations and tests performed by NAVSUP (Naval Supply Systems Command) to determine whether the present system of disseminating Navy catalog data by book-type publications could be improved by replacing the book system by some form of micromation. The project took into account consideration of preparation and distribution of the catalog data, utility of the end product in microform, its acceptance by users and overall cost effectiveness. Results, conclusions and recommendations concerning the investigation of the feasibility of applying micromation of the Navy catalog data distribution function are included as part of this report.
