Mechanical Analysis of Propagation of Sheet Intrusions.
Abstract
The stated purpose of this project was to achieve a better understanding of the mechanisms of dike and sill formation and host rock deformation associated with these sheet intrusions. The researchers carried out field studies of dikes and sills in the Rocky Mt. region; particularly at Shonkin Sag, Mont. and Spanish Peaks, Col. The theoretical and experimental analyses of these intrusions have progressed well and led to several published papers.
