Scattering and Reflection of Acoustic Waves at the Bottom and Surface of the Ocean.

Abstract

Effect of roughness of the sea floor on marine geophysical measurements is studied. Comparisons of scattering experiments and theory, scattering characteristics of the sea floor, sonographs of ice grooves on the bottom of Lake Superior, and the roughness of the sea floor in the basin west of Spain are shown.
