A Study of the Lighting Problems of Tent Stoves and Lanterns under Arctic Winter Conditions.

Abstract

The problems involved in lighting tent stoves and lanterns, used by the Canadian Forces in the Arctic, were identified and studied in detail. Various procedures and devices that could be used to alleviate the lighting problem were examined. Field trials were also carried out with a small asbestos torch as an ignition aid.
