Researches in the Field of Variable Solar Phenomena.

Abstract

Observations of solar radio noise were made at the Oslo Solar Observatory. A radiometer operating at 225 MHz and a new high-resolution radio spectrograph operating in the band 500-550 MHz were used, in addition to other spectrographs working in the 150-175 MHz and 310-340 MHz bands. Data obtained on the fine structure of solar radio noise bursts provide new insights on source mechanisms in the solar atmosphere and the effects of the solar magnetic field. Work on isotope ratios for several elements in the sun is briefly reviewed. (Modified author abstract)
