Solar Geophysical Data Processing System.

Abstract

The Solar Geophysical Data Processing System is part of a Research and Development (R and D) effort performed at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories (AFCRL) in conjunction with the Air Weather Service (AWS). This R and D project is an effort to develop a system capable of processing data received on a daily basis from the Astrogeophysical Teletype Network (ATN). The Solar Geophysical Data Processing System consists of a series of programs designed for and implemented on the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC) Univac 1108 computer system housed at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska. The system processes the ATN data in real time, for a number of scientific disciplines including Solar Optics and Solar Radio. (Author)
