Occupational Structure in the Military and Civilian Sectors of the Economy

Abstract

The paper focuses on trends in the occupational structure of the civilian and military sectors of the economy. Some implications of these trends for manpower policies for the all-volunteer military establishment are examined. The competitive position of the Navy is explored also in terms of its occupational structure and the environment in which it operates.
