Hot Pressed Beryllia.

Abstract

This program showed that to produce a hot pressed beryllium oxide (BeO) ceramic tube for use in a high intensity infrared lamp is a more difficult and complex than originally believed. The lack of uniformity and reproducibility of commercially available BeO powder, which will hot press to the degree of transparency necessary to produce a useful tube, is one of the severest problems encountered.
