Information Processing Models and Computer Aids for Human Performance: Second-Language Learning

Abstract

The report describes the second field evaluation experiment on the Mark II model of the Automated Pronunciation Instructor (API) system. Two matched groups of students were studied. All were native speakers of Spanish, and all were enrolled in the Intensive English Program at the University of Miami. One group was tested and trained with the API system; the other was simply tested within the same time frame.
