LOW POWER PROPORTIONAL CONTROL CRYSTAL OVENS TYPE M6 AND N13.

Abstract

During this period the M6 oven was redesigned using a long neck dewar and several N13's were built. Both types were tested in order to find if they meet the specification. The additional insulation provided by using the new redesign permits both Type M6 and N13 to operate at nominal power dissipation specified, 400 MW and 150 MW respectively. At the high ambient extreme both ovens present difficulties. Also some electrical problems were encountered. Descriptions of the electrical, thermal, and mechanical difficulties with actions taken to correct them are given. (Author)
