WAVEGUIDE, WAVEGUIDE CIRCUITS AND ANTENNA RESEARCH STUDY.

Abstract

Efforts concern work on surface waves, antennas based on surface waves, and microwave branching filters. Special emphasis will be placed on studies concerning the beam waveguide and beam waveguide resonator. Measurements of the loss due to coupling into a beam waveguide resonator were made using very thin irises. The measurements were in fair agreement with the calculated loss for small coupling holes. An analysis to show the possibility of the existence of two modes simultaneously in a beam waveguide resonator with large coupling irises was made. The existence of these modes has however not yet been verified experimentally.
