STUDIES OF THE EFFECT OF LASER RADIATION ON CHEMICAL ACTIVATION AND VAPOR FOG NUCLEATION.

Abstract

Conclusions are presented on studies of Laser Effects in cloud chambers containing DMMP and methanol. Charged particle and thermal precipitation effects are identified and distinguished. Preliminary observations and techniques are discussed for experiments of nuclear magnetic relaxation times of protons as an indicator of free radical production. Some initial observations of laser induced dielectric breakdown effects are discussed, with the most suitable methods for finding and identifying chemical products. Vapor phase chromatography and mass spectrometry appear highly suited for these studies. (Author)
