THERMOCHEMISTRY OF SELECTED COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

Measurements on the heat of hydrolysis of aluminum borohydride at 1 C have continued during this quarter. Improvements were concurrently made to monitor and maintain a more constant temperature of the jacket. An infrared analysis of the products showed an absorption peak representative of Si-H. The silicone with grease packing used in the reaction vessel was replaced with an Apiezon. Further IR tests showed an absence of Si-H. We are continuing with these hydrolysis studies. A sample of SAP has been received from Aerojet General and a second sample has been sent for fear that the first has been contaminated. (Author)
