SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT PROGRAM PHASE II-C.

Abstract

Significant progress accomplished on the SST program during October and November is summarized. Increases to the body depth are being studied as a means of increasing cargo and fuel volume. A comprehensive airport compatibility study is nearing completion. Good progress is being made in developing an understanding of the roll performance requirements of the SST. Four major Preliminary Design Reviews to evaluate design concepts were conducted. Repair of the full-scale test pivot bearing lug has been completed. Six wing specimens were flutter tested in the Boeing supersonic wind tunnel. A series of 1/10 scale inlet performance tests have been completed.
