GROUND BASED MAGNETIC TAPE RECORDER. VOLUME 1. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS.

Abstract

This manual provides information on the operation, theory and maintenance of the ground-base magnetic tape recorder. The recorder in conjunction with the vehicle-borne recorder, comprises the AMIE (Automatic Magnetic Information Equipment) magnetic tape recording system. When used in combination, they serve as the recording portion of a satellite-type data gathering subsystem. The ground-based recorder records the data output from the air-to-ground data link, and plays back the data into a data processing system. The recorder may be used in either of two basic modes of operation-analog recording or digital recording.
