5-KW, ENGINE-DRIVEN ELECTRICAL-POWER GENERATOR SET FOR AMPHIBIOUS APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

A 5-kw engine-driven electrical-power generator set incorporating a Lister air-cooled engine and a Lima totally enclosed generator was procured, tested, and evaluated for amphibious applications. Results of performance tests and an in-service test of 6,400 hours are presented in this report, as well as conclusions and recommendations regarding the use of similar generators in amphibious applications. The use of generator sets of the same type as the test unit in Naval amphibious applications was recommended.
