TETRAFLUOROETHYLENE-ETHYLENE COPOLYMERS AS SUPERIOR DIELECTRIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

The objective of this project was to prepare fluoropolymers which would have superior properties in the areas that are now lacking. The approach discussed here involves radiation copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene monomer and ethylene monomer at -78 deg C. The scope covers the effects of radiation dose, dose rate, monomer compositions, oxygen, etc., on the copolymerization and the properties of TFE-ethylene copolymers. Melting points, infrared spectra, thermograms, X-ray diffractions and elemental analysis of the copolymers would be determined. (Author, modified-PL).
