MANUFACTURE OF INTERNAL ATTENUATORS FOR HELIX-TYPE TRAVELING-WAVE TUBES.

Abstract

The report contains a detailed description of the manufacturing process by which Attenuator Rods are produced using the Pyrolytic Carbon Deposition Method. In addition to the description, an overall assembly drawing of the vacuum chamber in which the deposition is carried out is included, together with all the detail drawings which the assembly calls out. In the same manner as for the vacuum chamber assembly, overall electrical and plumbing schematics are presented with outline drawings of the equipment represented on these drawings. Components which have been purchased and are now a part of the Manufacturing Facility for production of, or for testing of, Attenuator Rods by the Pyrolytic Carbon depsoition process are described in the form of specification sheets. Each sheet is sufficiently complete to provide a usable specification for procurement of an or equal component should either the source for the vended part or the stock of manufactured parts be unavailable when needed.
