INVESTIGATION OF A 30,000 RMP TURBINE-DRIVEN HYDRAULIC PUMP.

Abstract

The thin pump experiment was successfully operated at its design point, qualifying the pivoting-tip vane for use in the turbine-driven pump. A deformable cam ring model was successfully fabricated using a diffusion bonding technique. Tests of the model show that it deflects as predicted by earlier work and qualify it as a candidate variable displacement mechanism. The deformable cam ring was selected for use as the variable displacement mechanism for the turbine-driven pump. (Author)
