ELECTROSTATIC FOCUSING OF HOLLOW SPIRALING ELECTRON BEAMS.

Abstract

The solution of the beam trajectory by computer is being approached by an iteration using successive values of current density determined from the Child-Langmuir Law. A simple coarse calculation shows good agrement in six iterations. The space charge problem is also being treated by means of the differential equation of motion using the static solution obtained for the beam in a coaxial structure. (Author)
