UTILITY OPERATION, CHECKOUT, AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS. G-B LINE TERMINATION UNIT,

Abstract

The G-B Line Termination Unit has been designed to receive four signals from the General Purpose PAM Ground Station (PAM-GP1) and alter these signals to make them suitable for use by external display equipment. These four signals - composite PAM pulse train (video), 40-kc clock, block sync, and frame sync - are transmitted from the PAM-GP1 Ground Station to the display area through long coaxial cables. In passing through the cables, these signals are degraded to such an extent that they are not directly useable by the display equipment. The Line Termination Unit reconstitutes and amplifies the clock and sync signals, and attenuates and pulse-stretches the video to a 100-percent-duty-cycle signal, the form required by the display equipment.
