PRESSURE SWITCH, FREBANK NO. 2338-1 VIBRATION TEST,

Abstract

Two pressure switches were functionally tested while being vibrated at frequencies from 20 to 2000 cps and accelerations to 20 G. Two different mounting arrangements resulted in substantially identical functional results; but one, of a cantilever type support, resulted in 3 x amplitude amplification of the unsupported end. Variation of actuating pressures were determined throughout the frequency spectrum and was found to exceed the manufacturer's specifications in three cases. Also, the combinations of pressure, frequency and minimum accelerations which caused contact chatter were determined. (Author)
