NYLON WEBBING, IMPACT LOAD TESTS - GRIPS, INSTRUMENTATION AND STATIC LOAD - STRAIN DATA, DEVELOPMENT OF,

Abstract

In preparation for an impact load test program on nylon webbing, efforts were directed toward developing suitable grips for restraining the material and adequate instrumentation for measuring the loads, deflections, velocities and accelerations of the specimens under test conditions. Static tests were performed to obtain static load - strain data on the test materials. Although no final configurations for grips and instrumentation were obtained, considerable knowledge of the problems involved in the proposed program was derived and extensive development work was accomplished.
