SHORT NOSE CONE STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY (X-1021425): AXIAL LOAD AND ELEVATED TEMPERATURE TESTS,

Abstract

A test was performed to determine the ability of an X-1021425 short nose cone to withstand an axial compressive load at elevated temperatures. The specimen withstood a 4275-lb axial compressive load for 60 sec. while the temperature was being increased from ambient to 870 F.
