Abstract

The device for accomplishing biomedical research will be carried in a satellite. The capsule will contain biological specimens (mice, or a small primate) which will be recovered alive after orbiting the earth. The capsule is approximately conical in shape, with a diameter of 33 inches and a length of 42 inches. It contains a biomedical package consisting of test animal(s), a life-cell, a CO2 filter, an oxygen supply, a cooling and air-circulation system, and instrumentation.
