Abstract
This report covers a Conference on the Physics of Semiconducting Compounds at the University College of Swansea, Wales, sponsored by the British Physical Society. The author describes these conferences as unique in that the papers presented are not intended for publication, no proceedings are published and personal attendance is the only method of getting the news. The author gives a brief summary of six invited papers and then lists the contributed papers so that those interested can write the authors for further information. (Author)
