DESIGN DATA FOR A SERIES OF HE PROJECTILE SHAPES AT MACH NUMBER 3.0.
Abstract
Data are presented in graphical form on drag, weight, explosive to metal ratio, and stability for a series of projectiles suitable for HE ammunition. The projectiles consist of secant-ogival heads with cylindrical afterbodies. These were varied in a systematic manner resulting in a series of projectile shapes 3.0 to 6.0 calibers in over-all length. (Author)
