BULK EFFECT OSCILLATORS FOR FREQUENCY CONTROL.

Abstract

The report describes the continuing investigation of an electromechanical semiconductor oscillator using the electrostriction and elasto-resistance phenomena. The first section includes experimental investigations of low and high frequency oscillations, a description of the apparatus constructed for evaporation of small area contacts, and a theoretical investigation of possible mechanisms of oscillation. The second section is concerned with a description of the second generation apparatus for measurement of the electrostriction constant and a further investigation of possible theoretical justification of the anomalous experimental values of the electrostriction constant.
